Achilles UVDB

Achilles UVDB provides a fair, open and transparent means of supplier selection for potential tender opportunities. Achilles UVDB helps utility companies manage risk within their supply chain and comply with EU Procurement Legislation. Joining Achilles and gaining the UVDB accreditation enables you to win new business by promoting your services to over 1,500 individual buyer users from over 80 organisations. Reduce your overheads by completing and maintaining a single pre-qualification questionnaire and where applicable, an assessment, for key players in the utilities industry.

Suppliers assessed as having a high risk profile may be required to undertake an audit of their company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality capabilities. There are different audit levels and the category depends on a number of factors including the nature of the products or services being offered, company turnover and the number of employees.

Achilles Building Confidence

Achilles Building Confidence is not just another tick-box exercise but a rigorous accreditation process that delivers a number of benefits to its supplier members. The majority of suppliers who subscribe to Achilles Building Confidence will undergo a rigorous audit to assess their capability, competence and compliance in line with the relevant audit protocol. The purpose of the audit is to validate your pre-qualification questionnaire face-to-face with an auditor at your premises, and identify areas for business improvement and risk reduction.

SSIP

Safety Systems in Procurement Schemes (SSIP) act as an umbrella organisation to facilitate mutual recognition between health and safety assessment schemes wherever it is practicable to do so. They actively advise and influence clients about acceptable interpretation and appropriateness of health and safety competence standards in UK schemes. Suppliers are encouraged to embrace the SSIP core criteria for the demonstration of competence/capability or the health & safety modules as a base threshold requirement.

In total there are approximately 26 registered schemes under SSIP. Some of the key schemes which HCC have experience in and are registered under SSIP are CHAS, Exor, Safe Contractor and Constructionline. HCC can help you attain any of these accreditations through support for online applications and audits.
